Objectives
The Living Canvas 2008The Gallery without Walls in
Thimphu, Bhutan will be the third installation of an
international exhibition sweeping from Nepal to Sri Lanka.
This groundbreaking performance embodies the remarkable
human spirit that bridges civilizations and transcends culture,
history, and time.

The Living Canvas 2008 – The Gallery without Walls aims to
accomplish the following objectives:

 
  • Promote awareness and understanding of the varied art forms and cultures of South Asia;
  • Bridge traditional and modern art and music to create a unique unprecedented vision that stretches cultural boundaries;
  • Expose Bhutanese audiences to Bhutanese, Nepali, and Sri Lankan art, and culture;
  • Connect contemporary Bhutanese, Nepali, and Sri Lankan art communities and encourage mutual cooperation and dialogue; and
  • Help emerging artists learn about Bhutanese art, music, and culture.
